VBALink is the first GBA emulator to have a working LAN multiplayer option. VBALink is based on Forgotten's VisualBoyAdvance. I did a test with Elly, and VBALink's claim is no joke.....GBA multiplayer is now possible through the internet.

Of course there are some limitions in the current state VBALink is in right now. When Elly and me ran the test, we both got 3% framerate when the actual link was created. This probably had something to do with the "Link Timeout in Milliseconds" option, but we never got the change to try the theory. Also 2 people were only connected, so it's a possibility that even a bigger lag will be noticed with 3 or 4 players connected.

In conclusion, it is now possible to GBA link through the internet. But don't think you can start kicking some ass in Zelda Four Swords. The speed issue will be the biggest problem to overcome within the next few releases. Right now this is one of those "try it with your friends and be admazed" things, but sooner or later (if developement keeps up) it will be possible to GBA netplay through the internet at the full 60fps ;)
