Forgotten just updated the VisualBoyAdvance homepage with a bit of news about VBA translations. First of all, there's now an Italian and a Spanish version of VBA 0.51 (yes, that's the latest version) available! Second, some other notes:
A note on translations: I am not building the translated versions. These are translations done with resource hacking tools. If you want to make a translation, you are welcome to, but I can't help you. I hope to make it simpler to make translations in version 0.6 or later.
.. there we have a hint on what we can expect in v0.6, and here's another, a snippet from our interview with Forgotten:
Thorgal : In what way are you satisfied with VBA, and what can still be improved?

Forgotten : I am satisfied but there's room for improvement. There is another coder adding a debugger and I will also enable some of the development log messages which help find problems like misaligned reads/writes, etc. It is also in plan to make it easy for people to add translations. I don't want it to be like it is in VisualBoy where I have to recompile to add a new translation, but this is still a future feature.
I can't wait for the next release :) For more information and translations, head over to the VisualBoyAdvance homepage !
