Hi, Cygoku. I'm afraid that my reply will also not be very "uplifting". You see, aoshi is right : there is no secret way in any emulator, to make Valkyrie Profile -PERFECTLY- playable. I agree with you, that it would be nice if there was an emulator that could play this game -perfectly-, but believe me, there just isn't any at the moment. Each psx emu has its own issues with this game. VGS crashes on you because it can not display the horizon of the 3D map properly, while every (?) other emu can not emulate the timing of the 2D-battles correctly
...I'm sorry to dissapoint you - believe me, I KNOW how great this game is, but for now, you'll just have to settle with the "harsh" (as you call it) way to play this game.... well, it's not THAT hard, actually, and above all, it works. Try taking a look at the following threads...
...in this thread you'll find some detailed info on how VP works with bleem 1.5b, ePSXe, FPSE, and VGS... & also a way to make it work on VGS (it's NOT a step-by-step guide, but it's detailed...)
...in this thread you'll find detailed info on how VP works with PCSX - a very promising emulator in the "Valkyrie Profile area"
...in this thread you'll find my VGS memory card, which includes a save at the earliest point possible, and also Takuma's ePSXe memory card, and info about his experience with VP & ePSXe....
...that's all I can offer you, ....good luck
