i get avg of 110FPS so i was hoping to improve the graphics and all that...
but neither the pxl shader nor int x res 2 work...
what else is there i can do to improve my gaming experience??

That's the best you can get graphically wise. In order to use the pixel shaders, the card must support DirectX 9 and in order to use the very high X resolution, you have to use a nVidia GeForce 4 Ti, FX, or 6xxx video card.

You really can't improve the resolution. It's simply not something the PSX does because of how it processes graphics. From what I see and understand, the larger the resolution, the more distorted the initial image will become. Good lookin' pics though.

you could try a higher resolution overall, or you can try OpenGL with some AA to see how you like it.
