I'm trying to upload pictures, but all I get is this extremely general error message:

Tried clearing the cache, using different browsers, but fuckall if the forum will give me a specific reason as to why it won't upload.
The progress bar appears, goes to 100%, then this error pops up.
Engineers are looking into it. Thanks for reporting. Happy Thanks Giving!

Are we ever going to change the messages to post on the user info?
Another thing I'd like to see the join date in there.
After a while is a good reminder of how long you've been here.

Permanent display introduces an unnecessary measurement generally detrimental toward newcomers (a distraction from expression of solid arguments in favor of seniority age).

Click on on any avatar, the profile minicard includes that information, along with other relevant quick info like location, trophy points, and whatever else is added there for quick consultability).

Are you talking about Profile Posts? You guys can't post there?
He means the phrase "Messages" displayed under badges. I suppose it could be changed to Posts if it counts only posts, as it'd be more familiar (instead of implying its count represents 'private messages').

I'm trying to upload pictures, but all I get is this extremely general error message:
This includes avatars. Existing ones will read fine, new uploads may break (silently fail upload but seem to referenced for some).

I get your point about the date.

Didn't look at the profile info.

About the messages yeah that's a bit confusing.
Would like it changed to posts or something else.

I think they should include "Trophy Points" under the badges instead of "likes received", or maybe in addition to it. I honestly think that trophy points give a better indication of how helpful someone has been to the forum, likes only came about very recently, while trophy points stem from all the messages been posted ever.

Say someones posted 10,000 messages, but has been away from it recently. He comes back to zero "likes received". It suggests nobody liked his posts, but of course its just that they have been recently introduced. It sends out the wrong message. Psychology is important, little things count more than you would imagine.

Trophy points in their current form are meaningless and not representative of merits, it's just a total of the points assigned to specific actions. It's only real purpose is to provide a different ranking system focused on promoting specific actions (of which there are currently none except the base set).

The current list is here http://ngemu.com/help/trophies
A larger list of trophies http://xenforo.com/community/help/trophies

Permanent display of trophy points is unnecessary, but the gratification you suggest may be provided by just expanding the trophy list (absent or not, folks with 10000 posts wouldve accumulated quite a few points and would be list at the top of the ranking of members by trophy points.

I still think it's more representaive than likes. For reasons I have given.

Oh well, anyway that's my view. Thanks for contemplating it.

Bold and non-bold characters in quoted text are barely distinguishable.

Is it possible to make the floating edit box not vanish if you click out of the edit box? currently if youre writing something and click out of the edit box it vanishes away along with everything you wrote -_-

Nothing was lost, just click back on "Edit".
For new posts, drafts of unsubmitted posts in that thread are automatically saved and can be edited, loaded or submitted.

Inception-style spoilers are somewhat broken, and images are also unnecessarily shrunk:

Embed of pics and videos works fine for current and past content.
The issue you got occurs because if switch from the quickreply editor to the full editor (posting directly from the QR or advanced editor doesnt resize their previews), and the field seems to be narrow, so the autoresizer kicks in (see pic below. The video embeds are not resizable on the fly otoh).

Edit: seems switching is fine but with the same result, Maybe the resizing accounts for the narrowest width of the responsive theme.

dddddd
