This is a timed poll, intended to show people how good or bad is No$gba. The expiration date is 3 weeks after the time this thread had started. The score will be calculated by the rules given below. The voters name will not be shown, to avoid any flamings or other consequences.

==========================================================
There are 5 ratings, in order from top to bottom: Great, Good, Okay, Bad, Worst.

For every one of those, we add the values:

Great = +4
Good = +3
Okay = +2
Bad = +1
Worst = +0

And then the total is divided by the total number of voters, then rounded to the nearest second decimal place.
==========================================================

Once the poll has expired, the score will be calculated by either me, or any volunteer.

You may rate No$gba based on its performances, GUI interface, design, your experiences, your opinions, and/or your overall score. You may give out comments if you like.

No rule-breaking posts.

EDIT: Suggested by Smilley, There's going to be a poll for each of the emulators. Then once all of the polls are closed, the results will be shown in the Misc Handheld Discussion for significant comparing results.

I think no$gba is a great emulator, not to mention the extended usability with other programs such as NOZ, etc.
I reckon is great!
Mainly because it runs most games at a good speed.
It is simply the best emulator there is for DS. With NGZoom, it has almost 100% compatability.
GUI is compact and funtional, though I'd like to be able to access it without actually starting a game; but that's something I can well live with.
Unless you are either associated with emuforums or with no$gba there's nothing official about this poll, thus I edited the thread title.
In comparison to other emulators for other systems, no$GBA isn't all that great. In fact, despite having GBA in it's name, people on this forum suggest using VisualBoyAdvance for GBA, and I completely agree. No$GBA lacks state save, erases normal saves if it crashes (which it does frequently) has high system requirements, and is not actively developed. It also lacks customization and display options, though great add-ons like NOZ alleviate that completely.

With that said, I still love it and use it daily. It is undeniably the best DS emulator right now even though it hasn't been developed in over a year. Along with a.exe it plays nearly everything full speed and with my modified NOZ, fullscreen on two screens. I think if Martin fixed the saving issues and added 3d upscaling/filtering like epsxe, it could be one of the greatest emulators ever.
Uh, you'd have to be brain dead to say it's bad or the worst right now.

And I really don't think a weak dual core like mine is a high system requirement for an emulator.
Tom, if you want this poll to have any significance, you should start one in every DS emulator board. That way we can somewhat compare the emus.

no$gba has save states but only for GBA games.
no$gba can run on terribly weak systems...in fact it's being/was developed on a terribly weak system...

Understood.

That's not a demerit ! haha :D
It's actually one damn cool thing ! :D

+2 +2 for no$gba :D
IMO, extras developed by someone else should not be accounted for. That includes programs like NGZoom, MyZoom and so forth. Why? Sure, they improve several aspects of the already existent emulators. But are not part of the emulator themselves.

For example, by itself, No$ lacks resizing options. iDeaS lacks good quality sound and possibly compatibility(haven't tested in a long time). NeonDS lacks sound altogether(I'm not sure about it's 3D capabilities, but I don't remember them being too developed). DeSmuME seems to lack compatibility(sound is the best out of the 4, and as far as I remember is the only one to provide zooming as part of the emulator).

Just some thoughts.
NeonDS has grown in leaps and strides in the 3D department and was not half bad. It suffered due to not having an sound though and pretty much no comfort options either so it's rather cumbersome to use. It was looking very promising for a time there, but since development has slowed a lot it's still a fair bit behind in the 3D department which lowers compatibility as well as lack of sound lower compatiblity (for things like Pokemon).

iDeaS has some comfort options, and has an acceptable level of 3D capabilities, it however suffers from bad sound emulation, memory leaks and other issues though. It does have zooming capabilities but less so than DeSmuME, also with the way it's already performing when at regular sizes it's very inadvisable to use it's zooming function for most.

DeSmuME has grown in leaps and bounds in both the compatibility and 3D departments and is looking solid. In fact there's pretty much only two missing comfort options (cheats and bilinear filtering) preventing me from using it as my main DS emu.
