His dads company probably get reimbursed for the gas. People who travel that much for work usually get a gas card.

For my secondary studies.... I'm not sure. I've taken a bit of everything. Literature. Science. Mathematics. Even geology  Next year I'll probably just enter into a networking/systems technician program.

My dad is one of the two owners of the place he works at. So the gas bill just goes towards the usual monthly costs of the company. For those who want to know, a trip to the capital means driving 100 KMs. While inside the capital you probably have to drive another 2-10 KMs(depending on the destination and the like), and then it's another 100 KMs to get back home.

Seriously, it's evil.

well at least you can be home the weekends, I study very very far far away and go back only on vacations, mi first year well... wasn't very good, new city, a really BIG and crappy city but well... I study medicine.

The first year i had to wake up at 7 am, grab the bus at 7:30, be at the faculty at 7:50 in the class room before the Dr. enters the room, then spend all the day there, from 4 to 5 pm go to eat nearby, the last class was from 5 to 8 and i was home at 8:40, read and do homework till 12 am and then sleep.

Now in the second year
wake up at 4 am, read from 4 to 5, then walk an hour because at 5 am there's NO F***ING BUS!!! and be at the classroom before 6 am, from 6 till 11, then from 12 to 4, wait for the last class at 7 till 8 pm, arrive at home at 8:45 (dinner), read A LOT and to homework till 12 am, i wonder... where did my sleeping time went.. ho yeah i sleep all Saturday and part of sunday and back to class

And still i go to my hometown only on vacations

My family won't move. So my dad will have to drive every day anyway. He says that he prefers it here(home, that is). Me moving somewhere would only be an option if I had someone to share the costs of an apartment with. And at the very least, that possibility is non-existent until August. And even then, the chances of any one of my friends wanting to move to the capital is pretty slim.

Next year I'll have a place to stay at for sure, since I KNOW one of my friends will move to the capital once he graduates from High School(and again, that won't be until December).

And sorry to hear that, Lenox. Seriously, that schedule is inhuman.

My stepdad use to drive a lot, idk how he did it, but I get driving 8 hours in one day hadn't taken a toll on him. He owns his own company but his responsibility goes towards contracting with other companies like IBM and Pricewaterhouse Coopers etc... I don't think they gave him gas money, but I know he got housing partially reimbursed when we lived in Belgium... I'm not sure what he got in England, and in Massachusetts he drove the most, still not sure what he got.... but it doesn't matter I've moved out into my Univeristy so I'm golden!

Yeah life is tough.

As some know, I have 3 jobs and my only day off, which is Saturday, I have to wake up at 6:00 am to be at university at 7:15 am.

Thank God that my next semester is my last, 'cause I don't have time to do what I like.
