you don't need any guide, use DuckStation or RetroArch Beetle PSX HW.

[first install the libs]

Visual C++ Redistributable Runtimes All-in-One (Windows 7-11) [MSVC++] [MSVC++ installer]

dl, unzip, run .BAT as admin, wait, reboot, done!

[emulators]

DuckStation (Windows 10+, linux) [PSX only] [opensource] [MSVC++] [pc version]

"How to 'install' BIOS at DuckStation" - by ofernandofilo [2022-03-28]

or

RetroArch (Windows, linux, macOS, android, iOS, ...) [opensource]

RetroArch [pls, use the most updated version]

open RetroArch, Online Updater, choose:

* update installed cores;
* update core info files;
* update assets;
* update controller profiles;
* update database;

restart RetroArch;

open RetroArch, Online Updater, Core Downloader:

* Sony - PlayStation (SwanStation) [current LibRetro DuckStation port]
* Sony - PlayStation (Beetle PSX HW)
* Sony - PlayStation (PCSX ReARMed)

pick one or all;

the BIOS are the same as used by:

- Mednafen / RetroArch Beetle PSX/HW;

- DuckStation / RetroArch SwanStation;

for PCSX ReARMed, Mednafen, Beetle PSX/HW and DuckStation/SwanStation

Code:
    bios / region / md5
    scph5500.bin JP 8dd7d5296a650fac7319bce665a6a53c
    scph5501.bin US 490f666e1afb15b7362b406ed1cea246
    scph5502.bin EU 32736f17079d0b2b7024407c39bd3050
- the files must have the same names as listed, and using lowercase letters as shown;

- the files must be placed in RetroArch/system folder;

- PCSX ReARMed only needs a single BIOS and will use scph5501.bin;

- when using RetroArch, I recommend SwanStation over all others;
