you don't need any guide, use DuckStation or RetroArch Beetle PSX HW.
[first install the libs]

open RetroArch, Online Updater, choose:
* update installed cores;
* update core info files;
* update assets;
* update controller profiles;
* update database;
restart RetroArch;
open RetroArch, Online Updater, Core Downloader:
* Sony - PlayStation (SwanStation) [current LibRetro DuckStation port]
* Sony - PlayStation (Beetle PSX HW)
* Sony - PlayStation (PCSX ReARMed)
pick one or all;
the BIOS are the same as used by:
- Mednafen / RetroArch Beetle PSX/HW;
- DuckStation / RetroArch SwanStation;
for PCSX ReARMed, Mednafen, Beetle PSX/HW and DuckStation/SwanStation
- the files must have the same names as listed, and using lowercase letters as shown;
- the files must be placed in RetroArch/system folder;
- PCSX ReARMed only needs a single BIOS and will use scph5501.bin;
- when using RetroArch, I recommend SwanStation over all others;
