when i open the program and try to extract files -raw of my cd it requests which directory to save it to. where do i save it??????

Anywhere you want. You can make a new folder on your HD and name it ISO's if you want and save it there...it doesn't really matter so long as YOU know where it's saved to.

Just use file -> run iso in ePSXe instead of file -> run CD-ROM. Why did you start a new thread about this when your other one is still fine? Locking this. If you're still having problems, use the other thread.
