Trine - PSN/PC

This just hit Steam yesterday.
I only got to briefly try the demo last night, but what I've seen so far has been awesome. If anyone's ever played The Lost Vikings back in the day, this game has much of that same spirit.

Honestly, it looks like an online flash game with better graphics.
How is it even remotely close to an online flash game? oO
I guess it being side scrolling?

Meh...
Best flash game i ever seen in my life so good its like its not made in flash at all.
I guess it being side scrolling?
WTF. Side-scrolling is not original-to nor limited-to flash.
A basic physics engine, coupled with a series of short puzzles in 2D side scrolling environment.

Several flash games follow that concept. Many of them frustrated me after an hour or so of playing.
Well from the look of it this goes more in depth
If you water something down enough, I'm sure you can make it seem incredibly similar to a lot of things.

With that said, Trine is a fun game. I haven't played that much, but so far, I'm having fun and that's all that matters to me :D
It's pretty fun thus far. Played for about an hour and can't say i'm hating it... Hard to block sometimes is about it...
I finished it. It was awesome IMO. I hope we get some DLC.
Looks nice the last platformer i played on the PC was a H-game, lol
Demonophobia? :dead:

This game has the most inspired graphics I've seen in ages. I saw an HD Review and this game looks fantastic. Then I recalled we had a thread about it here at the forums, which I kinda overlooked.

Spyhop, are you still playing it now?

I'll most likely pick it up, my GF told me it looked like a game she played a long time ago, on which I linked her to The Lost Vikings (one of the moments where she wondered my sanity, being a walking gaming encyclopaedia). She loved that game, so most likely it'll be an enjoyable coop.
Trine doesn't have allow co-op, as only one character can be on the screen at any particular time. But you can take turns to finish the stages(and also switch places if either one dies). >_>
The review I read said it did, and it was shown in practice as well. It's local only though, thankfully.
I finished it awhile ago. Will definitely play again.

Mmm... hopefully, we're still talking about... the same game here, ya?

I don't think that looks anything like Flash, or even behaves like Flash. If anything is like Flash, Castle Crashers on the 360 is more like it. Anyhow, I'm not really... "cool" with the "expertise" of 98% of Flash developers on the market... much less their games.
I finished Trine in around six hours over a few days. It really is a smooth experience, in my opinion the developers kept an eye on frustration levels of their testers & made sure the game play was always moving forward. That said, it did feel a liiiittle short for $30. ;x But, this is the company's very first game, & the gorgeous graphics engine, fun physics obstacles, & it's sweet & simple story & characters make it a must-play for me.

I only have a few major faults with the game. Again, it was short. Without trying to blast through the game, it still only took me like, three sittings. For me, there really is no replay value. Second, the knight character really starts to become useless very quickly. I used him as a sacrifice character for tricky jumps that the wizard or thief couldn't lolezmode through, & that was really it. Lastly, & the most offensive flaw was the final stage. I won't spoil it, but it's a big cliche from every platforming game ever, & the ending is very anticlimactic.

That all said, I'd give Trine a 8.5/10, & am very much looking forward to other games from this company. ^^

So it did worked after all

Nevermind the troll guys, just give a headsup if there's one more occassion.
Bumping this thread to give all you guys a headsup about Trine being on the midweek sale at Steam. You probably know me as an advocate of hard-copy, but seeing how this game is for sale for only €5,- it is very hard to pass up on the offer.

As for a Steam in general, they're doing well in my book with their sales. Recently I purchased AvP Classic 2000 and Psychonauts. I also got Defense Grid, simply because it's an awesome game.
honestly,Im not trying to be negative or anything but it kinda looks boring, something that you would see on older consoles, but hey if its your style go for it.
