ok, kinda simple question...How much of the Graphics are done in the core of ePSXE?
By that I mean, Does ePSXE (and others) completely control the GTE engine, or any of the texture conversions or anything like that?
my think was that possible there could be a general speed up in everything if the core did the conversions (Even using the converted data iin the GTE calculations, etc) then passed them to the plugins for output...The integration into the core would be much, much tighter, and would open up the plugins for faster output because they would have less to do...
Anyways just a thought I had while experimenting with the FB/vram settings....

Bad news...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

... for some of you, not me

I've got me a new system (it was kinda time to put my old p3-550/Geforce1
system to sleep... I have to be prepared for Aquanox ).

My new system (AthlonC 1200, 133 FSB, 512 MB DDR ram, SCSI DVD and
CD rom dive, ATA100 IBM 60 GB harddrive, SB live, GeForce3) is sooooo fast
with psx emulation, I don't have any chance to make speed optimizations
anymore

FVP and even the easteregg blurring... everything is running full speed all
the time... soft gpu is freaking fast... pfff... and to play in OGL with
300 fps, wow

again, thats not the point....
most people don't have a 1.2 athlon or a geforece 3(Which I am surprised anyone is buying considering the reviews and bad drivers)

the point is to speed things up for everyone....without them having to upgrade.
Upgrading to play an emulator is ridiculous.

Hehe, just to clear up things:

yup, some things will not be full speed if you enable super-high resolutions and/or
expensive options (like FSAA) :)

but overall my new system is fast as hell... I really like it... and now back to Anachronox :)

yes, most of games would run at full speed. The games with slowdowns are usually from squaresoft.

btw, I really don't see much performance hit with fsaa on newer video cards, so I just leave it on. ... ...

Pete, is it possible to add vsync to the software plugin?
