ridiculous, considering he read "full-blown sex sequences" and then when into a seizure, when IGN's Matt Casamassina says:

in fact, Killer 7's so-called "full-blown sex sequences" could appear tame when compared to those in some of today's movies. The sexual scenes in question showcase a fully clothed wheelchair-bound man pleasuring a straddling woman, who is also fully clothed. Although she moans, indicating a sexual orgasm, neither nudity nor intercourse is illustrated in the cut-scene. The same scene in a movie today might warrant only a PG-13 or, worst, R-rating.
Jack Thompson is seriously a despicable man. Looking out for the well-being of minors is one thing, but this man is waving a huge flag saying "look at me! look at me!" It's ridiculous.

To truly see the man Thompson is, read no further than this comic:

followed by this long series of e-mails from Thompson to the artist:

You'd better not to ignore small trouble makers. If left alone, they might do some serious damage. Believe me, there is a million a flower-hat grannies cheering behind this guy...

You know, that **** has been going on for years now. Parents/Conservatives will always find something to whine and complain about it, so why bother? The more you give them attention, the more it will serve their causes.

And it has been bigger and bigger as years have passed. Once it gets big enough, who knows what might happen. Of course nothing world wide, but still some serious **** might happen.

That's because people keep giving it more attention that what it really needs.

I hate to say this... but Elly your opinion isn't absolute. Many others and myself have been following what Thompson does because its interesting to discuss. Maybe you're in a cranky mood or something... but at the moment you're ruining the thread.

Anyways back on topic, I can't believe that idiot Thompson used a review as sole evidence for campaigning against the game. I hope he burns and dies :p.

after the whole hof coffee thing, where there is proof that rockstar did lie to ESRB, the ESRB's exsistance is actually kinda shaky right now, esp with idiots like this guy trumpeting their horn.

I usually don't care about these things, but if this guy keeps it up, video game violence/censureship may become a strong platform for parties.

Even Tom's Hardware is joining this brawl

I wouldn't care if he didn't have so much impact on these things, I wonder will he see a "full blown sex scene" if he saw Need For Speed Underground 2 because it features a few sexy female characters, this guy also saw genitals where there is none in the sims2
I would also like to call his sanity into question as he treatened to take legal action against someone he contacted replied against him

Edit: I just sent him an email in the hopes to iniate an email conversation just to humiliate him in front of you guys i am not posting it here until I get the full exchange of opinions in case he saw it here

you might want to be careful about posting your conversations -- you may be violating some privacy laws in the US.

And in response to Elly: Ten years ago, legislation wasn't being passed to keep games out of people's [little] hands.

Prepare for the most asinine immature responses you can imagine. The man is an anti-social freakazoid.

Like this: http://www.kotaku.com/gaming/q-a/jack-thompson-declines-to-speak-out-on-gaming-violence-025471.php,

You would expect a laywer to be well versed in how to reply to people inquiring information about your actions with a cut & pasted response replied to anyone that he didn't really want to speak with. But instead you get a reply that seems as if it comes from the mind of one of the very young teenagers he proposes to try and shield from horrible videogames.

If he's got kids, they're probably violent. And he blames it on videogames, when he should take a look in the mirror at how he brought them up with an attitude like he has. He's supposedly passionate about his work, but it looks more like he's trying to hide something and make money than anything else.

Holy BS, this person CAD forums has got one major point:

5. According to the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and
Alcoholism, (http://www.niaaa.nih.gov/about/underage.htm#statistics),
two (2) million youth, ages 12-20 (under the legal drinking age)
consumed at least 5 drinks, 5 or more times a month. Approximately
1100 people are killed each year in alcohol related accidents, that
were not the drunk driver, and solely among college students under the
age of 21, 50,000 have experienced alcohol related date rape, and
430,000 were assaulted by another student who had been drinking. Where
is your lawsuit against the breweries who create this alcohol, and
market it freely where anyone can watch? Where is the lawsuit against
the stores that sell alcohol to minors? Where is the lawsuit against
parents who leave the alcohol available for their children? I'm
terribly sorry Mr. Thompson, but I believe you have your priorities
sorely misplaced.
Seriously, this is starting to look like a crusade from the old dark ages. Where some biased people convinced of their own opinion being the only right one, without even trying to look into facts... Just like with the holy crusaders. :(

Edit: After reading even more emails and replies, this guy seems like some badly programmed AI with just one goal :p

Can anyone send him an email claiming that one of your family members got killed and you think it's because of video games, lure him into the world of neuroscience like his "dendrite argument" then you throw some fancy words at him making him agree with you like he lacks axons due to a low ammount of dendrites in his head and post it here?

NewsMax.com's Man in Miami: Is This Woman Nuts?

NewsMax.com's Man in Miami: Is This Woman Nuts?

A few months ago, while covering the Elian saga for NewsMax.com, I noted in an article that Janet Reno may be suffering from what is called "Parkinson's dementia," a mental condition that can be exacerbated severely by Sinemet, the mind-altering drug she is taking to control her tremors. This drug is known to induce "paranoia, hallucinations, depression" and a generally unstable mental status.

Over a year ago, acting upon his own concerns regarding the attorney general's physical/mental condition, Sen. Robert Toricelli, Democrat from New Jersey, said: "I have concerns about Janet Reno's capacity to discharge her duties."

Friday we were provided evidence by the attorney general herself that she may indeed be nuts. Fox News Channel, in its morning news programs, was running video footage of Reno playing a totally unrecognizable "tune" on a Caribbean steel drum in her office. She then hoisted in her hands as the camera rolled a devil's trident or pitchfork that she had lying around her office.

When the screen returned to the morning news anchor at Fox, she said: "There's the attorney general playing 'When the Saints Go Marching In' and giving the media a wonderful photo op with the trident." She then rolled her eyes as the studio hands erupted in laughter.

This would be funny if it weren't for the fact that this is the chief law enforcement officer in the United States, who has just announced that she is going to ignore the recommendation of FBI Director Freeh and two career prosecutors at Justice that she must appoint an independent counsel to investigate Al Gore's campaign fund-raising irregularities.

Reno has five more months of being nuts on the job, at the expense of the sanity of the Justice Department.

Jack Thompson, NewsMax.com's "Man in Miami," contributed this item.
If there is a piece of news that makse him look stupid I will find it
Sorry for the double post but it's easier to see the news like this

Actually, we are with Elly on this one....follow the logic:

SCENARIO 1 - Kid falls down a well. A neighbor hears the childs screams for help, and grabs a couple of other neighbors who rig a rope to the tow on a truck, and lowers down their thinnest person fondly named "Crack-head" Nancy. Nancy is lowered into the well, grabs the kid, and gives the word to pull them up. The kid is rescued, they repremand the parents for not watching their kid, and they all go to a bar to celebrate.

SCENARIO 2 - Kid falls down a well. A neighbor hears the childs screams for help, and calls the media before calling emergency services. She immediately removes the curlers from her hair and does her makeup. She then checks on the kid right when emergency vehicles arrive. The sounds attract other members of the neighborhood. The woman gets her 15 minutes of fame. The local polititian sees an opportunity for media attention and promptly sues all local well construction companies for not building "child-safe barriers". The parents finally noticing it is their kid after seeing the rescue on the television..put on their best dress, rig up some fake tears, and get their 15 minutes of fame as "the concerned parents". Other folks see the story on the news and also generate a lawsuit against local well makers....all the while their children are running around unsupervised....the madness continues.

Our point? You are all contributing to making this story a "SCENARIO 2"....You are merely feeding the attention frenzy which makes it bigger then what it should be. Want to help the problem? Ignore it ...or if you do need to feed the beast...feed it poison... get your parents to see things logically ("Parent responsibility"), and have them write letters to their senators saying this guy is a moron. Get some kudo points in school by convincing a teacher of "Parent Responsibility (if anything..teachers may get it more because they are always getting crap because parents refuse to be parents and leave teachers to do their job)..then maybe with their help put together petitions saying this guy is a moron.

or ignore it...and get parents and others to ignore it...there are bigger problesm in this world then this.

Hope you enjoyed the creative scenarios :thumb:

I dunno, we seem to 'lose' when we ignore stuff...
I didn't make 'a big deal' out of GTA:SA and it was pulled out of many stores, in fact the local Electronics Boutique aren't taking any on trade and aren't putting them out for display even with the sticker *AO* on it...Wal Mart and other stores refuse to sell it, heck I barely got a copy of the PS2 version before the local Electronics Boutique junked the others as defective *I had to get my copy resurfaced.* So even if we don't make a big deal, 'self righteous' parents, religious folk, and politicians will make a big deal and step over all of our rights!

As a 37yr old, it should be up to me what I want to own, not other parents, the govgernment, 'religious' people, but me and when others decide what I can play on my PS2, they are stepping on my rights...

Heck, kids shouldn't be getting "M" rated games, just make laws that enforce that, but don't tell adults what they can and cannot play...

Of course what to do to parents who buy kids "M" games is beyond me...
