I don't know if this is against this forums rules so if it is then just yell at me or sumthing, but I have been told that there is a completely legitimate and legal way to get a PS2 BIOS off of a PS2 console and as I own one it would be just swell if I could do that. Any thoughts?

You can do a Search on PCSX2's site. Its completely legal as long as you dump it from your own PS2 and dont give it to anyone, except you.
