You won't get very far without a Hard Drive; CPU cooler, case fans, A DVD-RW drive, a PSU, and a video card.

So, no. None of those parts work at all without 5/6 of these items.

power supply is there. its the last zipzoomfly link. for some reason, it doesnt say the name here. the hard drive and optical drive, i am just going to move from my old pc which is still kinda new. i heard those parts were not that important compared to the other ones

Depends if they are sata or not.
If you have too many IDE drives, you might find more difficulty in plugging them in than actually setting them up.

Never have more than two IDE drives, at most. Even then, make sure they are the same type of hardware. Two IDE hard-drives should be easy to set up, two ROM drives in IDE should be easy.

Good luck finding the right cord to connect a ROM drive and an HDD. in master/slave.
