I have ePSXe 1.7
Bio: SCPH 1001
Video: Pete's OpenGL2 Driver 2.9
Sound: ePSXe SPU core 1.7
CDRom: P.E.Op.S. CDR Driver 1.4

I just got to the point where you finish the Hero Tourney in Lohan, and you go on a "date" with Shana to play minigames. However, whenever I attempt to start a minigame, the screen goes black and nothing ever loads no matter how long I wait. It seems it doesn't matter which minigame I choose, they all do the the same thing. Also, even just trying to leave does the same thing. Should I try a different video codec or what? Any suggestions?

test the game on another emulator, preferably psx, and see if the same thing happens.

wasnt aware of that, you can try pcsx though. have you been using save states at all during your current playthrough? if you have been then stop and try loading from a real memory card save.

mmhhhh... wasn't there anywere mentioned to not use SCPH-1001 because it's the worst?
Anyway... if you attach your memorycard save I could see if it happens with my version too.

I would test it with pSX, except Legend of Dragoon isn't compatible with it.

Does anyone have any other ideas?
It is compatible, well that's if you have an european/jap bios and rename it to scph1001 (so that it can be read by the emu).

Didn't play the game with 1.7 (didn't get the chance) but with the previous versions i had no problem 1.52 and 1.6 (though the same bios trick is required well half of it actually since with epsxe you can load any bios). If something still goes wrong you are: either using saves states and you should stop doing it, or the disk may be damaged.
