I saw this too. Unfortunately, I'm impatient, and I want Linux up to par with Mac OS X yesterday. XGL has a LOT of refinement ahead of it before it is stable enough to actually use. Hell, x.org's compositing stuff is still flaky. Imagine how far this stuff would be if millions of developers weren't so busy writing MS proprietary software and worked on projects like this; projects that actually matter.
