i wanted 2 know.... which is the game that pcsx2 can emulate the most?
I have a p3 866, VGA memory 32mb, 256 mb DDR ram.

I admire your 'hope'. But with a machine like that, I'd go back to playing SNES / NES / N64 / PSX...

Even with a machine twice that power, you haven't a hope in hell of getting decent speeds.

The most 'playable' games on PCSX2 are mainly 2D ones, like Namco Museum, Super Bust a Move etc...

I don't think you'll be playing any ps2 games even when it starts getting faster...people are using 3.6ghz computer and getting 2frames in most games.

i dunno about this specs. even i have trouble trying to emulate the bios hehe. i tried emulating the FFX and got 1FPS and 20FPS.
try streetfigher ATM, which worked fairly well on my comp
or if you wanna really emulate it on PC try to get atleast these specs
P4 3.6Ghz, 2GB RAM or at least a 512MB, a 256MB Graphics Card

I currently have a P4 1.4Ghz 256MB RAM, NVIDIA GEFORCE MX 64MB.
but i've ordered a new PC with specs
P4 3.6Ghz, 2GB and 256MB graphics,
but i'm afraid it wouldnt work with dat either.
buy a ps2, which is much cheaper than all this new hardware

your comp is a paper weight in PS2 emulation. Thats why I don't bother with it. I have a ps2 and I buy my own games, the furture looks good but it just isnt time.

like they said wait till the emu is fully compatible and with better speeds
so you know what kind of computer you will need to emulate them
i would suggest you to don't rush and spend too much money on a better pc right now
because i don't think that even now with this progress that the emu has shown
the pcsx2 team know what is the system requirements

in my case i will wait more time till i upgrade my computer

haha my friend showed me that, i recon that would be the minimum spec for PCSX2 at the moment

lets just all wait till pcsx2 is finished, then we can see what hardware specs we would be needing then. The thing is with the coding, linuzappz would improve them and it would work out fine when completed and we really arent sure if its with the hardware that the PCSX2 is not having speed. so lets just wait.

Jeah thats right lets wait till a new version is out and then in 1-2 jears the hardware will be better and then i hope its possible to play all games

I have time so i just wait and when i want to play ps2 games i play on my ps2 and maybe on the new ps3 i hope that the old ps2 games work on the ps3


BTW the cpu i showed are just unbelievably 16 cores and what a performance nice realy nice :thumb:

since the ps3 was made by improving a ps2 and a ps2 was made by improving a psone, the games of the old generation would work . (i'm sayin PSone, and PS2 and the new PS3 all are playable on the PS3)..

The PS2 was not made by improving the PSX to give it its backwards compatibility. What happened is that the I/O processor in the PS2 is basicaly idendical to the PSX main processor.
The Cell is an evolution of the Emotion Engine, but only macroscopicly. The actual hardware is fundamentaly different. Thus I don't think they will be relying on any similarities to run PS2 games, rather they'll probably use emulation.

We just need to use the Cell Processor that ibm will launch in some very special and restricted servers (and probably linux to SO), end next year or so. i've already read the news but i don't remember where. Servers runnig 2 and 4 cell processors... god damn where is the link !?!

Ahh... sorry, had a bad day, was very sleepy when I wrote it zzz: ) and I was really clumsy first writing about how amazing the procesor is, and then I don`t know why I thought I was replying to the ps3 thread (I thought this was another thread when I said that about the ps3:hdbash: ) so in the end it came out as 2 replies to 2 diferent threads in 1 post:heh: .
