Task manager+ePSXe+Silent Hill=False?

Right, ill try to be brief and explain my problem in short.

I'm using ePSXe ver 1.60 to play a ROM with Silent Hill i downloaded not too long ago. The problem comes when i first run the game, ctrl+alt+del out of the game to say, check something on a walkthrough on mozilla firefox webbrowser. Then when i enter the game again, the screen is completely black, but i can still however play the game, go to the map, and i hear the sound of walking, but somehow, using the task manager and then going back into the game, seem to put ePSXe in some kind of "Blind Mode".

So, what do i do now to make this problem go away?
