Hello all.

I'm having a more generic problem then just ePSXe. I placed my Final Fantasy Tactics CD into my drive (under Gentoo Linux) but am unable to see any files on the disk (using iso9660 to mount). I went to my Windows computer and tried to load the disk, but got the same result -- the system did not show any files on the CD.

I then installed and set up ePSXe to see if at least it could read the disk. No joy. After asking to run the CD, I get the following:

* Running ePSXe emulator version 1.6.0.
* Memory handlers init.
* ePSXe: PSX BIOS loaded [bios/scph1001.bin].
* Init internal cdrom ... ok
CD read toc header failed (25)
* First/Last track: 7 2
* Track 1: CD get track start failed (25)
(AUDIO) - Start 0: (00,00,00)
* Track 2: CD get track start failed (25)
(AUDIO) - Start 1: (00,00,00)
CD(0,2,16) read ioctl failed (25)
CD(31,40,62) read ioctl failed (25)
CD(31,40,63) read ioctl failed (25)
* NTSC cdrom detected.
* Init gpu[0][libgpuPeteMesaGL.so.1.0.75]
NVIDIA Corporation
GeForce4 Ti 4400/AGP/SSE2
* Open gpu[0]
* Init spu[0][libspuPeopsOSS.so.1.0.9]
* Open spu[0]
CD(0,2,16) read ioctl failed (25)
CD(0,2,0) read ioctl failed (25)

Does anyone know why I wouldn't be able to read this disk? Many thanks for any help!

Sorry to tell ya this, but it looks to me like either your disk is fecked, or your drive can't read psx disks (more likely the former). Try a different game, and iss if that still get misdiagnosed as an audio cd.

Thanks. I did toss my disk into my PS2 and it booted right up, so the data is at least intact. I'm just very perplexed as to why it isn't being read though... I've tried 3 cd-rom drives on 2 computers. Creepy.

I'll start traveling with the disk when I go over to friends houses -- maybe I can get one of theirs to read it. :)

This disc is really being fecked...
Anyway, I was wondering is there anyway ePSXe can bypass all these sectors?

At the risk of sounding overly ignorant (I do only have 4 posts)... what is "fecked"? Is that anything like FUBAR? :)

More or less :D

Basically feck is just ***** with the 'u' switched to an 'e'. It originates from the tv sitcom father ted. The producers were banned from using ***** on that show, and made up feck as a replacement.

Anyway, i don't think it's the current situation. Check this thread and see if it helps.
