sorry but i have some bad news for ya kyro cards have some problems with pete`s plugins
i have a kyro2 too and i have have tryed all gpu plugin and mutch drivers but i and all kyro users in this board have the same problems with the kyro drivers .if you try pete`s d3d plugins they freezes randomly your pc (the only solution is the reset button)you can try petes ogl but its slow in some games
for final fantay games or games who are too slow with the ogl try the soft plugin it works great.
Help! When I play FFIX, there are no battle menus. ie: dialogue shows up fine but just no battle selection menues.
n3urotic: post your GPU settings, and maybe we can help. I'm tempted to say your offscreen drawing isn't at a sufficiently high enough level, but that's impossible to figure out with the current information.
Dude, thx lots, it works now after I cranked up the settings on that option you mentioned.

Now 2 other problems:
+ In general, battle scenes run slow (choppy but playable)
+ The battle intro (twisted blurring of colours) is extreme slow... to the point if that was it takes like 10 seconds to run. I've attached my settings, take a look for me please?
I suggest u to disable the full vram primitive.

My highest fps is about 35 - 50 fps after i enabled the full vram primitive when playing Tekken3.

Full vram primitive slow everything down......
Okie dokie, done that. Runs a bit smoother now, but still glitches...? This scene major slowdown occurs and black boxes everywhere, urgh!! Why is this?
You actually have to check the box called "Use FPS limit" for the manual limit to come into play. Since you're not using 16 bit color, why is color dithering still checked? Nightmare's suggestion is also a very good one. Check mask bit, too.
Oh, and what about the pixelicious effect from above? How come this doesn't look like the screens I've seen elsewhere on this site, those smooth polygons, mmmm.... Is it because the background is pre-rendered CG? and they can't be resized. If so, what about the characters themselves, look very pixlized to me... Lines very jagged.

A different subject: can I use FSAA (Kyro2) with EPSXE? The rule of the books is that any D3D/GL game would work with FSAA enabled with my card but I'm just wondering if there are any letdowns.
The above scene in the screenshot you attached is the only time FF9 looks as pixelated as that. And yes, you can use FSAA, but it'll probably be extremely slow.
One last and final question (sorry to bother :p), will that black box glitch occur in other places of the game? I mean I didn't add those black boxes myself, it was in the game.
I've personally never seen those boxes, but I doubt you will for the same reason that that graphic transition isn't anywhere else in FF9.
What is transition? Er.... Damn I suck :p
The transition from MDEC to actual game. Usually the MDECs just stop before the game returns to the player's control.
Oh, aka, Square's cheap way to amaze ppl.
Thanks for all the help ppl! and admin! :p

I think I'm falling in love with EPSXE, so (unfortunately) you will probably see more of me on this board in the future. Harhar! Yeah! Rocks! Yeah!

Oh, btw, that's Hercules Prophet 4500 64MB running on 8.xxx drivers from Hercules. Driver is for WinXP.
hmm i have tryed your settings but its unplayable slow, specally in battle mode and worldmap the framerate drops dramatic.the soft plugin is mutch faster for me !!
Woda... You use latest Kyro drivers? Works like a marvel. OpenGL glory, although FSAA do work like molasses. Gees, I mean, with the kind of graphics, why isn't Sony kicking my door yet...
i have the v1.3 Windows 9x/ME (Build 1.00.08.0162) drivers from power vr.com .have you tested it with final fantasy 9?the framerates drop down under 10 at magic attacks with pete`s ogl for me why should it work for you and for others not?
my system :
