Everytime I try to launch an attack the game freezes I never had this problem before it's super frustrating. Anyone have any ideas? I tried almost everything..

You haven't tried ditching ePSXe for Duckstation.

Much newer and better ps1 emulator.
And if it doesn't then your disc image is bad.

I am using duck station but I still have the same problem and it's tryed downloading from different locations and it still does the same thing

if you are using an american version of the game, your disk image should have the following hash:

if your image is good, we have a problem related to your installation. being configuration, emulator version (always use the latest), etc.

If not the rom then it's most likely a gameshark cheat that broke the game.

As for verifying the rom Duckstation has a nice feature for that regardless of format.

In Duckstation settings - Game List Settings add the folder where your roms are, if they are in a correct format they should appear on Ducksation main window like so.

Just without the covers, those you have to add yourself, if the game doesn't appear the rom is bad.
Now right mouse click on the game that has appeared - properties and Compute and Verify Hashes, if it matches meaning the room is good you will get a green mark like so.
