After seeing so many forums and websites I have come to the conclusion that most people online are iddiots.

I have 2 questions for you:
What is the most n00bish thing you have seen so far?
What is the worst thing for someone to do online in your opinion?

Please elaborate if possible

To me it's insulting everyone they see for no good reasons and in just about all the discussions even ones where they are supposed to make friends as well as spam insults in comments on the front page and guest books.

Dude theres n00bs everywhere we go, Online gaming is just full of them.Sadly boards also are filled with them.People that looks for PSX isos for exemple or those who never takes the time to read the rules.

I'm part of a mugen community and some people just are *******s and that doesn't make the creators or moderators exeptions,sure they're always trying to keep the board clean but when's theres a flame war between a regular user and some newcomer they always take the Regular user's side which is kinda unfair when the newcomer is right.As for the Creators, I'm not gonna give out names but sharing your characters can be quite pleasant for certain but I don't know, it seems that they don't expect people to play with them which is sorta weird since Mugen is a fully customisable fighting game engine PLAYED by everyone, there might be tons of creators but it remains a game.When it comes to n00bs there, it's asking for unrequestable stuff (Stolen codes which I agree with completely for being unrequestable) but denying the further use of certain kickass creations? Thats just plain childish if you ask me.

I Share my creations yes but Internaly for various reasons: Warehouses (People that hosts creations without asking the creators,People that ridiculise "amateur coders or new ones" and such.Noob is a serious factor and a great character to use in Mortal Kombat but they can easily get their face rocked by a Warning,Kick,BAN or a Fatality.

the most n00bish thing I have ever done was intentionally start a "flame-me" thread on the penny-arcade forums, didn't go well, but I got about 50 responses before the flamers got tired of it

Not that they're idiots, but they simply have not yet realized that courtesy applies to the net as well (assuming they have courtesy to begin with). Many times, I myself am tempted to just rush in without reading the rules. For someone who just surfed in, weary of searching thru piles of hits, that's not always easy, especially when rules tend to be long.

Sure, sure you may argue that you should have the patience to read the rules, but in the hustle bustle, at the speed things go... with the "click me to get answers" mentality fostered by the net... the idea of stopping and taking the time to read, browse, peruse, etc becomes lost.

Me? Hm... perhaps the most n00bish thing I've done is to participate in a discussion, put my point across, only to find out that my points were stupid, n00bish and trifle since they knew much much more about the topic than I attempted to THINK I myself knew. Never did THAT again

The worst thing someone can do online is to spam spam spam and flame flame flame, thinking he had the RIGHT to do those things and ask for what he wanted. Forexample, I remember the time when someone came in here asking for something illegal. He even purportedly had his DAD come along and cause a ruckus of a thread here.

My little habit of saying "Ghtz" and not "GHz" has made a couple people in the forums say that it makes me look n00bish, but I've been saying it that way since my 66 Mghtz 486 DX2. And that's been about 13 years, so I'm not gonna change it now, mreh.

I often see n00bs on biggest Polish emu forum, the E#D, who are holy convinced that if there's an emulator it runs all the games and emulates them in 100%. Even if its an early beta or alpha version.

Yes, those flame wars are meaningless and lead to nowhere. But unfortunately some are very stubborn and never learn... Well, I guess n00bs are unavoidable especially on forums like this, large and international. Each one of us was a newbie not so long ago. Although my registration date is Mar 2004 I've been using the NGEmu site for much, much more time. I remember the good old days when first versions of PSEmu Pro were coming out, all this excitment when I finally succeded running BoF3 on my P120. It was very nice feeling which nowadays is gone somewhere... I don't know, maybe I'm getting old, but even though PCSX2 is getting so much progress I didn't even try to run it on my computer. I just prefer putting a DVD into my PS2 and play. Lack of time is a different matter Why didn't I register then you might ask? There were several reasons: my English was rather poor, I didn't have too much access to internet at all and mainly I was downloading newer versions of PSEmu and trying it at home. Oh, I got a little nostalgic and went off topic, sorry Anyway, n00bs are usual ppl who're very young and don't even know what is an emulator. They only know that "it's a program that runs games from different computer/console" and of course I has to run them perfectly. I don't envy all the admins and moderators who have to fight with those ppl everyday...
