I just recently got my PSX emulator working, or at least I thought it was working. I never found time to actually try it out, so when I originally tested the thing, it was more like I saw that the correct opening screen for FFVII came up, and I stupidly assumed that that meant the whole thing was working fine. I only have two games with me at the moment so I don't have a lot of info concerning the problems. But, the situation is this: for FFVII, the entire game runs at nearly triple the speed it is supposed to, when I battle the battle option menu is not on the diplay (neither are my character stats), and I don't get any sound at all. As for Legend of Dragoon: I can't get that to work at all! Help!

don't have ff7,but the game might be running to fast because you haven't set fps limit on the pluging config screen.

as for the sound... i dunno, here is my config for it(see pic)that config works well for everygame i've played so far. of course thats on my computer but ohh well....

enjoy your gaming experience:)

I'm assuming you're using Pete's Plugins... try this for FF7:

1) Set "Offscreen Drawing" to 3 or 4, whichever works better
2) Check "Use FPS Limit"
3) Check "Special Game Fixes", and in its submenu check "Textured Window Alignment".

Can't help with Legend of Dragoon, you should try doing a search in the forums.

Okay, sound is working. Two problems remaining. I cannot find the "Offscreen Drawing" option you mentioned. Perhaps I am looking on the wrong place? Also, now that I fixed the FPS limit and "Special Game Fixes" the little hand that points to the "new game" and "continue" options on the opening screen has disappeared and I still don't have a battle options screen. I guess these two problem are both because I couldn't fin the "Offscreen dawing" option.
P.S. I am using a Pete's Soft Driver

That great and all but I can't get my emulator to take any of the GPU's I have. I have a d3d and a ogl but when I go to the emeulator and try to use the config submenu to make the emulator use the plugin the emulator claims that I don't have any plugins to choose from. I can go into a plugin and configure it, but I can't configure it to the emulator.

That's strange, FF7 works perfect for me with Pete's Soft GPU.

DougDflute: uh...do you have the D3D and OpenGL plugins in ePSXe's plugins directory? ePSXe shouldn't be having problems configuring them. Could you be more specific about what you mean when it says ePSXe won't acknowledge them?

Yes, I can be more specific. I don't know if their in the directory or not because I can't open the thing. I can configure a plugin from the ePSXeCutor menu, but I can't configure it with the emulator itself. When I open the emulator I go under the config menu at click on the video option. When I do that, my mouse icon turns into the hourglass because the emulator is looking for plugins. If, I click on the black status screen behind the emulator menu, the last message on the screen reads "not video plugins found" (no typo there is really does say "not" instead of "no") At this point the only way I can get out of the emulator is by canceling it from the status screen. I can't close it from the emulator because it is still trying to find the elusive video plugin. Anyway, when I try to close the status screen it asks me if I really want to close it, and it tells me that if I close it I will lose all unsaved information. If I click yes, the whole program shuts down. If I click no, the emulator continues looking for the plugin. This is very frustrating to say the least.:mg:
P.S. Good to see you back Ryos.

I'm feeling nice today, so let's try like with a little more detail.

Before starting, from any folder go in to Tools => Folder Options. In the "View" tab, make sure you have "Show Hidden Files and Folders" checked.

Now, see the first screenshot below? That's my ePSXe folder, yours should look similar. If you have any plugins there, they're in the wrong place. You should move them to the Plugins folder.

If there are not, enter the Plugin folder. It should look somewhat like my second screenshot. There should be one file for each plugin you have, like gpuPeteD3D.dll => Pete's D3D Plugin.

In should at less see gpuPeteSoft here, since you can get this plugin to work. If you also can see gpuPeteD3D, gpuPeteOpenGL, and any other plugins, this means they are properly installed. If they aren't here, re-download the plugin from
NGEmu, open it in WinZip and drag it to this folder.

If you can see the plugins, but they refuse to work, you'll probably need to update the drivers for your video card.

Not you video card, but your video card drivers. :)

Your best bet is to look in the manufacturer's website for appropriate drivers for your OS. If you can't find it, tell us what's your video card so we can help.

Yyyyyyyeeeesssss! I got my emulator working. I was playing around in my ePSXe folder, and decided to open the emulator from there. I was able to configure ALL of my gpu's from there. Apparently, the shortcut I have on my desktop is faulty. Thanks to everyone for your help!:) ;)

I had that same thing going on. For some reason, a desktop shortcut to your exe will not show you your plugins, you have to open the exe directly. If you're lazy, like me, have your shortcut point to your emu's folder and open your epsxe.exe from there.
