I have Star Ocean and when i'm in Rena's quest in Alen's mansion near the beginning, I hit the statue head and when the bookcase starts to open the game crashes. Any suggestions on what I can do?

This game is known to crash often with ePSXe. As far as I know, only FPSE can play this game properly.
