This emulator is looking very promising; other then the periodic illegal operation shutdowns ive been getting, never happens in the same place twice either. The other aspect i really like about this, is the fact that games having memory card issues for special features ect.. with other emulators seem to work on this emulator; doesn't damage the saved games on the memory card. If i could just figure out what is causing this illegal ops id be happy. Anyone else tryed using this emulator yet much?

EDIT: Also if anyone is interested; saved games also seem to be working correctly on PCSX1.6z for loading memory card information on games such and final fantasy anthology CD2.

haha, i havent tried SSSPSX yet, but i dont think there is any way that SSSPSX can surpass PSXeven or ePSXe any time soon. unless SSSPSX is really amazing..if so ill eat those words ;)

Hey, I didn't say it would happen tommorow ;) But judging from the frequency of updating SSSPSX and ePSXe I say that it will happed sooner or later. Look what version of SSSPSX is and what it can do, and it's constantly updated. I ran most of my games with it and had no problems with them. Even in FFVIII, where under ePSXe my joypad refuses to work, under SSSPSX there's no problem with that ;) I'd love to see a possibility of using external PAD plugins in ePSXe one day...

Well, epsxe doesn't update frequently anymore due mainly to two things: its coders have busy lifes, that doesn't let them keep up with it as before, and epsxe has reached a stage in development where is quite hard to improve anything. ePSXe is almost feature complete, so what's left is mainly bug hunting, and the ones that are still there are quite hard to isolate, and even harder to fix without braking other things (like what happened with release 1.6.0, wich fixed some games, but broke others that were compatible before, like FF games). The same is bound to happen to almost any emulator. Of course, it might be surpassed some day, PSXeven is already there, but it's not as easy as you say. We'll see if/when Ssspsx reaches that stage.

You may have to start eating Hushy ;) It is actually quite good. SSSPSX is based on the PCSX source, and from our tests it appears to have various improvements. Fpr example...we noticed it doesn't need the special PCSX "Parasite Eve 2 / Vandal Hearts 1&2" fix....not sure about the Inuyasha fix since we don't own that game. It also has a nice save state / memcard interface.

We noticed a similar problem..we solved it by removing the "TSG DirectInput" plugin from the plugins directory. If we recall...PCSX also didn't like this plugin. We use their SSSPSX Input plugin...works well enough...put it for both Player 1 and 2 in your configurations settings ;)

I've got only a save at disc 3 and haven't encountered any problems there ;) If anyone has a save before Dali, please attach it to the post so that I or Dark Watcher could test the Dali problem on SSSPSX and proove hushy that he's wrong (or not ;))

hey, i was merely being skeptical on whether SSSPSX could surpass ePSXe. keep in mind thats no small feat ;)

DW: what memory card saves does SSSPSX use? in other words, what am i gonna need to do to convert my ePSXe and Dex Drive saves?

OK, I have just tested it and found out that SSSPSX does have the same problem in Dali like ePSXe. Oh well, I hope it'll be fixed in one of next versions.

hushy: hmm, what do you mean by Dali problem in psxeven? It works fine here, the FMV doesn't freeze at all. Saves can be converted with PSXMemTool :)

i didnt mean specifically PSXeven at Dali problem, i mean ePSXe or PSXeven problems, i.e. FF9/Dali problem is common (with ePSXe). believe it or not...PSXeven has its share of surprises too! :O!

so anyway, what format saves does SSSPSX use? and, my PSXmemtool doesnt work. it keeps asking for PBVM60.dll...can you send it to me? (upload it here or somewhere)

I believe both needed dlls by PSXMemTool have been already uploaded to emuforums by bluekirby0 in this thread. PSXeven is cool, sometimes even better than ePSXe (who has played Persona 2: Eternal Punishment knows what I mean). And supports external gamepad plugins which ePSXe doesn't :/

Hey Hushy,

SSSPSX doesn't care what format is used. It seems to be able to autoload all other PSX emu formats.

We did notice that it didn't recognize DEX DRIVE though...double checked..It also won't recognize VGS or BLEEM formats either...but the PSXeven, PCSX, and ePSXe formats are auto recognized
