Wow. The game definately has been optimized for the final release. With SM3 plus all the extra eye candy options, I can run the game at 1280x1024 now. I could only do that at 1024x768 with the demo. The game barely dips below 30 fps now at those settings. Here are a few screens from the official game.

1280x1024, 8xAF, SM3+ HDR/VDM/HQSS.

fivefeet8 , Can you tell me how well it perform on your 2nd Rig (Fx5950) ?

Cause i like to know if it is any better than the demo.
I have to run the demo @ (High Detail) 800*600/W SM1 to get acceptable Framerate , especially in lighthouse when you make your way to the top , The framerate dip down to >20

It'll be great if the retail runs better in old hardware.

Thanks

The retail version does run better than the demo, but I doubt my FX5900 could handle it at higher resolutions. It'd probably need to be run at 1024x768 in SM1.1. It should run fine at 1024x768 on your system too.

Here are some more screenshots.

You can't take system requirements by MHz alone.. they're rough requirements.

I bet if you popped something like a 6600GT in that rig you could run it just fine. Technically, you could run it on your FX 5200, but it'd be slow as hell.

... I do. I ran it on an FX 5200 in my rig (an overclocked 128bit card at that!) and it ran like dog **** at even the lowest of settings. :p

That makes absolutely no difference on such a slow card.

dude ur theory is wrong when i had the game in high detailed shadow it went slow also with high texure. Once i put the shadow detail in medium it ran normal with high texture. There is a difference by the RAM of the card.

Well, what you'd define as running "normally" might not be the same as everyone. Some gamers are fine with 25 fps while other need to have 40 fps for good rates. Based on past experience the RAM amount usually has little to no effect on game performance. Lowering the shadow detail doesn't really take up more memory, rather it reduces computational work. Texture quality and size, as well as game resolution consume more memory.

Memory size, like Demigod says, isn't going to make the game run any faster.. especially at 640x480. :/ RAM size determines amount of textures/high res textures that can be obviously loaded into RAM at one time.. your card is so slow, however, it wouldn't be noticeable anyway. Your 256MB 5200 couldn't even sit in the same room as a even a 128MB Radeon 9600.

Try running the game on a real PC and you'll see what normal speed is. :p

edit: in fact, download Fraps and run it while playing the game, take a shot, post it.

I just got the game.
And the highest setting i can play it /w acceptable speed is @800*600 (all high except shadow on medium) +Fsaa 2X . I can't play it at 1024*768 even all details @med,low cause Fps is too low on that Res.

So, there is no way to play this game on slower card like Fx5200 with acceptable Fps ,especially at 800*600 or 1024*768 .
