Is there a way to speed up PC games similar to the way you can speed up games in most emulators? I'm not talking about getting them to play full speed, I mean playing them say, 9x normal speed toggled by a button.

My computer is a beast, and the games I play are old (but not dosbox old), so I don't anticipate being limited by hardware. I had a program for Windows 98 that did this (it made the cursor blink faster for example) but I can't remember what it was or if it still works with xp/vista.

Well, in games like Counter-Strike Source, the F10 button speeds up the game. It removes the frame limiter, quite nice
