My games run too fast! How can i slow down them?

My config:
PIII 550
384 Mb Ram
DVD 5X/32X
GeForce 2GTS
Sound Blaster Live!

I tried to set the DVD speed to 2X but it get no improvement

that's right 50fps for PAL and 60fps for NTSC to get the correct speed

thats true, but tekken 3 (pal) running at 60fps is better, and GT runs faster at 60fps too, i like them speeded up :)

Just because you like them speeded up doesn't mean that everyone wants to play them that way. He's just listing the standard framerates for these versions. You can also turn on autodetect which works quite well usually.

dammit and i'm struggling with heavy slowdowns....

i got an voodoo 3 3000 on an amd 550 and boy do games like ff9 drag the performence down by lots

Well, if your Amd is a K6 or K6-2, your problem is the heavy use of math calculations that the emulator does. It runs on that CPUs but sometimes, especially when there's a lot of fog, the cpu can't keep up with the emu and heavy slowdowns occur. You can disable Software Advanced Blending, as I know vodoo 3 doesn't do that in hardware. But be warned you'll miss some special lighting effects
