I've used version 1.52, 1.6, and 1.7.

There is a power option under control panel, but there is no option to change from max battery to max performance or other power saving options. I've checked all the tabs. Its like 4 degrees Celsius in my room, so i don't think its overheating, lol.
That's because you're on XP. ;)

Control Panel > Power Options

On the 'Power Schemes' tab you'll see the 'Power Schemes' section. (near the top)

The pull-down list will have options like 'Always On', 'Laptop/Portable', 'Desktop', etc.

Select 'Laptop'.

Set 'System Standby' to 'Never'.

If that doesn't work, set your Power Scheme to 'Always On' and set the other additional power options to 'Never'.

Windows XP handles power management somewhat strangely depending on your power management settings in BIOS on laptops... :/
