I am using epsxe 1.6, and have tried both peops and the default sound plugin. During cutscenes I get no voices, as in anyone talking at all. But I get other sounds, and during the fmv movies I get no sound at all. But there is sound in the game... Can anyone help me please ^_^

Oh I forgot to mention, I have a sound blaster audigy2, and its the greatest hits version of RE2 (dual shock). And I tried playing it both from CDROM and as a .bin I made with ISO buster. Problem is the same either way.

Sorry about double post :(

I fixed the FMV sounds, by checking those two boxes thanks! But now still in cutscenes I can hear the dialogue and voices, but its really messed up. Have only been to the first cutscene though at the gun shop.

How do I set a buffer of 40, heres my dsound config

Mode: 2 Use spuasync <--- have tried this on and off same problem either way

Volume: 3 loudest <--- tried all of these no change except volume :)

Reverb: 2 PSX reverb

interpolation: 2 gaussian interpolation

XA music both checkboxes are checked and under misc the first checkbox is checked next to spu irq - wait for cpu action rest unchecked.

In the main sound menu I have the first 3 options checked. The third gave me sound in fmvs.

EDIT: Setting the interpolation to option 1 "simple" seems to have fixed the sound problem. Though whenever the camera changes view I get an echo spam of the last sound played but thats not too big an issue. Other then that only other problem is flickering boxes during FMVs. I see a video option for it, but it doesnt seem to do anything.

I got eternal and set the settings you posted. Everything wokrs ok, except whenever the camera changes or I go through a door, or put an item in the item box I get a repeated echo of the last sound played 3 times. As you know in RE games the camera angle is always changes so its getting pretty annoying =/

eternal SPU lite works better for me, try that

I use direct sound audio device, 40 buffer size, my audio out method is "thread" and under "misc" I have "wait for XA buffer is free"

try that
