I am using Sound Blaster Live Sound Card with Altec Lansing speaker.
When I used it to play DVD, it sounds like "ch..chhiz".
Actually it works fine for any other audio related, play song, play mp3, anything sound related. But when come with DVD, it sounds not good. It happens to every single DVD I played. Anyone can help me?
Thanks

Is your processor fast enough?
Is dma enabled in your drive? How fast it is? I can tell from experience that you will need to have atleast ultradma3 to make it work without sound problems.
Pentium III 833 MHz.
DMA? What is that? Dun even understand.
Anyway thanks.

DMA stands for Direct Memory Access. Basically, it allows your drive to communicate with memory directly, rather than sending everything through the CPU. Try ripping the DVD to your hard drive and playing the VOBs directly. That should signifigantly improve performance since the DVD drive can be a major bottleneck.
u mean copy the entire contents of DVD to hard drive?
what's VOBs?
