Mines been doing the same thing, (check sig for Specs) Im pritty sure it has something to do with the sync with control pannel option. uncheck that and select your settings. if it reverts again then i dunno. iv asked creative the same question and all they tell me to do is uninstall the drivers and reinstall them.

EAX has nothing to do in actual output of 3d sound, it gives enviromental enhancements (which kicks ass :) ) to 3d sounds. KX drivers are faster and more stable, but unfortunately they do not have EAX support yet cuz creative hasnt given any public sources for eax... :(

I'm using the Audigy 2 ZS drivers on with my SB Audigy 2 and I've had no problems with speaker setup (I have a 4 speaker setup atm). You could try to install the SB Audigy 2 ZS drivers on your Live! (there is a way to do it with Live! cards).

You could also try to set the speaker setup in Creative's Speaker Setup app AND make sure that the same speaker setup is set in the Multimedia Control Panel. Also there might be some games that tend to automatically change the speaker setup which could also mess up your settings after you play it.

Care to enlighten us on where we can get the neccessary files? Unless of course it is something that breaks the rules, then tell me to google it and I will go on some file hunting.

I highly doubt it. Your technically forcing incompatible drivers to install, it just happens that it works to a usable extent :p

if the Live drivers do give you troubles, then the KX drivers are a very good alternative

ive been using KX drivers for ages, much better than Creatives bulkware.

Sound quality on everything is clearer than the creative drivers, they perform better as a general rule.

yes no EAX is a drawback but to be honest games are just as good without it.

Id recommend them, just as a note, when you first install them, open the mixer and untick one fo the boxes with the description "swap front/rear speakers" for some reason the hardware has it like that as default, so dont worry, the drivers do work, just make sure you do that :)
