I'm new the world of emulation, even still i usually emulate with my PSP. Frankly, the only reason i wanted to get an xbox emulator was so i could play Jet Set Radio Future. I've read up on CXBX and i actually have very high hopes for it.

Here is my problem:

I am able to convert xbe files just fine. What i'm lacking the the ability to run the converted exe files. I was reading on it, and i think i need windows kernel 2000, but i have vista (lord help us all that do) and i didn't think that would be a problem.

any advice is greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forums.

The state of xbox emulation is not so advanced right now.

Don't get your hopes up for now.

Look around for a compat list, I don't think this game is emulated yet, but I could be wrong.
Aw. Rats. well thanks anyway, i really appreciate it
windows xp and 2k are the best way to play with xbox emulators cxbx and dxbx.
vista is bit hanging arround same like windows 7.
specialy 64bit versions are on both emulators not supported.

best work around method is to create a virtual pc with microsoft virtualpc or virtualbox and install a windows xp enviroment to play those emulators.
um? Windows x64 comes with a very decent VDM for 32bit apps....
Cxbx requires some NT kernal functions that are only in the 32bit kernals..
Hi I'm Frog I just wanted to say is there a way to make the xbox emulator to play on x64 vista or is that too hard to do in general and in private also have the emulator been able to play some games and demos recently?

I have been messing around with cxbx and dxbx emulator with the code and such but I am no expert and professional programmer but changing and modifying it takes a long time and it isn't really hard to do I like editing everything but that is all I am doing and nothing else and I can't compile these two emulators maybe someone else later on can help out it is just fun to waste time if you know what I mean!

I have windows vista x64 that is why I can't play these two emulators but I am going to download virtual pc or virtual box in order to play these two emulators later on for now I am going to be busy!

Cxbx uses LDT which is not supported by Windows 64-bit... that's what stopping it.
Dang, well thats a pain in the ass.

This may be a stupid question, but would it not be possible to either A) Emulate LDT, or B) Link to XP's libraries from Win64?

Okay, this is going to be a tough one to answer. First, let me give you a link to what LDT actually is: Local Descriptor Table - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia . Sorry I didn't do that before :emb: Maybe we could emulate LDT using GDT instead (keyword "maybe"), but in Windows 64-bit, applications are not allowed to hook the GDT like Cxbx did with the LDT. If we try to do it anyway, the kernel bug check will be enforced and we're [email protected]#%ed!

Shadow_tj and I have discussed this 2 years ago in this thread here. It has a more detailed description on what Cxbx does with the LDT (or at least how it's initialized). Bottom line: I have no idea. I never paid attention to the LDT stuff much before, so I guess I'll have to ask Caustik.
is this possible

i want to play a computer game on the xbox 360 wouldnt that be easier to do cuz its somthing less advanced trying to be played on sumthing advanced ??? can it be done if so how cuz i have no idea what im doing

PC game on X360? You better be trollin that X360 is faster than PC. Also this this XBOX1 section.
andyxxpanda1290.. to play a pc game on a xbox360 this is possible.

this can be done and is very easy to do.
also when you dont have much knowladge.

the only thing you need to do is to do a litle investment into you xbox360.
the solution is to step to the game seller shop and buy the xbox360 game of the pc game you like to play..

simple solution that works for 99% of the pc games ...
lol rele im not dum but this is different its an online game look it up its called combat arms you have to download the thing and then make an account and there are servers that u go into and u play games it would be like trying to get runescape on xbox exept combat arms u have to download the game and its a first person shooter
ok .... but why do you want to play them on your xbox360 ??
because your normal pc is to slow to play that first person shoorter.

because in first person shooters... i prefer keyboard and mouse over a xbox 360 controler :)
about runnescape... mmm yes ok. these games are not playable on 360.

only thing you can do is ask the creators of runnerscape to redesign there client on xna.
so it can be runned on xbox360.
i new ud say that u do not understand what i said im not talking about runscape im saying it has servers like runescae but u have to download the game to ur pc its called combat arms and it would be better with a controller it used to work but they patched the game so u cant use controller i just want to no if it will work cuz my step bros laptop is crap and we both cant play at the same time and i wanna do clanmatches and rape and why would sumone wanna play orignal xbox games on computer xbox games are amazing original and 360 why would u ruin the game xbox is so much better than pc
play pc games on xbox is not possible.. not on a 360.
however there ara ways to install win95 on a xbox1.

but this would take alot of time and effort to run stuff that it is no more fun.
and running stuff like that on a 360.. yust forget the idea.

get some monney and buy a second hand pc or something.

(dunno why i continue on this item.... but ok hopefully you understand the problem ).
