Have you guys tried the Bixby remappers.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.superthomaslab.custombixbybutton

I might leave the left page in the homescreen for Bixby but will surely remap the button for other stuff.

I jumped the gun on a good offer I saw, will sell my 6s plus 64gb when I get it asap. Should be like 100 bucks difference for the upgrade.

Ordered a Spigen Neo Hybrid shiny black. Saw it matched great on a youtube video. WIll hopefully get the phone and case next week.

Btw can't wait for some xda dev to come through with a stereo speaker mod, I used one on my Note 4 some time ago and it was quite the difference.
Also heard cases help locate the fingerprint scanner more easily.

Yeah the S8 is terrible without a case/grip and I am glad I got the Pelican Voyager for mine makes it super easy to hold and it even adds thickness to the phone for me which is a major plus as well. I hate the fact that devices like this are getting to thin and slippery with the annoying all glass design and no edges to grip. Case is a must for me on things like this.

Just a heads up for people who want to run emulators the S8 does NOT have a menu button so you are unable to bring up a menu in game in things like epsxe for example which is annoying as I can't change in game settings or activate cheats or anything else for that matter. I need to get a hold of the epsxe team and see if I can't get something worked out with them about that.

I'm pretty amazed at the battery life, yestarday spent more time than usual playing with the phone, Dokkan Battle, instagram, facebook that sort of thing, and usually by 12:00 my Z5 was looking at around 30% battery, this thing lasted all day and by the time I was in bed it was down to about 28%.

Fantastic, I have no qualms about using this when I go traveling.

I haven't tried anything with the bixby button yet, trying to decide what I would assign.

I have the exact same case and it's amazing, it does make finding the fingerprint sensor easier and I'm hitting it quite regularly. Looks great, unobtrusive to function and feels fantastic to hold.

Not sure, when I had an android device before I used to press and hold the back button or multitasking button for the menu function.

Check it out. Maybe you can assign it or the app needs to be updated to enable action button. Also now that I think about it if you press the back button doesn't it pauses the game and bring the emulator option?

Yeah had to slide in from the right to get the onscreen buttons to come up. I am use to them being outside the view area. Had a Note 4 before this lol. Hitting the back brings up the menu so I am good there.

After more than 1 week of usage, Redmi Note 4X is performing well so far, after tweaking some settings (ton's of things to tweak, im lost on what to modify sometimes), it's very snappy. Games play fine, though there is a bit of slowdown, its very passable (not much of a gamer on mobile anyway)
Took it on vacation last weekend, Battery is a behemoth (4000mah), easily lasts a day with GPS mapping for half a day, LTE enabled all day, browsing and taking pictures and uploading pics all day, play some games and skype for 1hr and it hits around 10% battery at around 6pm before i charged it. On regular days with only messages and browsing the web, it can last 2 days without charging, on slightly active days like heavy use of data and games and downloads/browsing it can do 1.5 day. CHarging takes some time though, usually 2+ hrs to get it full, (quick charge 3 not enabled, despite snapdragon 625 having it)

Camera is ok for a 180USD phone guess (Sony IMX258 sensor), not as good as my sister's Lumia 950 but it's definitely miles ahead vs my old Moto G 1st gen. Low light is still a challenge (like most phones at this range) but it's more than enough for me.

WHAT THE HELL?

I have several battery packs I use with my phone. AKA 2 Ravpower RP-WD03s for example. One stopped working the day I got it so they sent a replacement and told me I could keep the broken one since it still works as a battery bank but everything else on it is useless. Also my FiiO E18 as well. S8 takes roughly hour and a half to 2 hours to charge so its pretty quick. It does have a smaller battery at 3000mAh tho but its still plenty for me. Also my MOGA PRo Power has a built in 2200mAh battery of its own I cna use to charge while I play so that I can play for longer. Doesn't charge whent he controller goes to sleep so I can't use it to charge that way. Not a biggy I have other batteries for that lol.

I can post some pics if I get my new laptop in June which is the current plan.

Netflix confirms it is blocking rooted/unlocked devices, app itself is still working (for now)

Earlier today, Netflix started showing up as 'incompatible' on the Play Store for rooted and unlocked Android devices. However, the app itself continued to work fine, leading some (including myself) to think it could have been an accident. However, Netflix has now confirmed to us that blocking modified devices from downloading the app was intentional.

This is the full statement:
With our latest 5.0 release, we now fully rely on the Widevine DRM provided by Google; therefore, many devices that are not Google-certified or have been altered will no longer work with our latest app and those users will no longer see the Netflix app in the Play Store.
If you're not familiar with it, Widevine is a Google-made DRM technology that works across various desktop and mobile platforms. Widevine categorizes devices into three security levels, ranging from all processes running in the Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) to not running anything in TEE at all.

However, the Play Store listing seems tied to a device's SaftetyNet status (which is used by Android Pay), rather than the Widevine TEE. For example, Artem's bootloader-unlocked stock Pixel is still on Widevine Level 1, the most secure level, but fails SafetyNet because it is unlocked.

The update's changelog also confirms the:
"Version 5.0 only works with devices that are certified by Google and meet all Android requirements."
What isn't exactly clear is why only the Play store listing is blocked, but the app itself continued to function normally. I tried both Netflix 4.16 and 5.0.4 (the latest version, from today), and both worked without problems on my unlocked and rooted Galaxy Tab S (which is labeled as Widevine Security Level 3). Maybe at some point the app will stop working, but that does not appear to be the case right now.

It's probably to block screen recording since you need root access for that and some custom os's come with hdcp off, still pretty late in the game for them update against it now when apps like All4 did it over 3 years ago.
There's things like temp unroot that renames the binaries etc that still might work unless their also checking the bootloader, which I use for All4 but doesn't work for NowTV.

Seems like a bit of an ill-fated attempt which probably hurts more people just using Netflix than stopping the few who go out of their way to do something illegal with it (and those people will generally know how to work around the blocking attempts anyway).

apparently sideloading the apk works. All they seem to have done is blocked rooted phones from downloading it from the playstore even the the app apparently still works when sideloaded. At least from what I have herd.
