*not 100% sure, but i think this is the right topic to ask about this...

I connected up LAN at my house, connecting 3 computers in total. The internet works good on all of them. I added all 3 into 1 workgroup. Each has a folder sharing on the network. The problem i can't do anything is to access that folder using a different pc via the network places. All the pc show up there but when i try to access it it says that access is denied. I think i overlook some security/access options enalbing that but i have no idea what they can be. Could anyone help me?

All PCs are running on XP Home. On each pc there is only one account being the admin of the respective pc. Just now i have changed ZoneAlarm settings to allow the IP of the other computers and still dosne't want to get it. I guess that why i cant connect a printer on the network as well.

It's been my experience that zone alarm really messes with LAN's...unless you REALLY know what you are doing....

Well, i managed to set the admin pc (one with direct access to the net) to connect up with a other one. Unfortunately it doesn't work the other way. Any way to fix this up? For the moment i really tied up and tired of tried different things to make those damn pcs be nice to each other...

Man, i turned the firewall for the trusted zone but still there isn't access for all the pcs. There are some links but not fully compatable. Any other setting needs to be changed?

windows has a "file sharing wizard" that can be run. It basically opens up all the ports you need and fixes windows firewall to allow sharing. and try running w/o zonealarm just to see if that is the problem.

Hmm... never heard about that file sharing wizard. Where is it?

Anyways, with ZoneAlarm off on trusted zone, i can access the other pc but not the one being the main one (having the router connected, main internet access) Does something have to be configured on it? i remember when i ran Network Setup wizard on it, at the end it came up with an error but still joined the work group. That main one can access the other 2 but they can access the other one.
