Slowdowns in Ape Escape

Trying to play Ape Escape on epsxe 1.6, and as usually when trying to play any game on this emulator, gotta fix the problems before i can play it =/ - Normally the game runs fine but it has moments where it slows down a lot, like in the opening cut scene it really slowed down when looking at the time machine thingy. It also slows down a lot when the main guy spawns or dies.

Here's my video stuff:

By the by, anyone know if there's a way to change the camera angles in this game? They can't really be that bad can they? I hope they're not always like that, i just want to be able to see where i'm going :p

That constant camera angle switching in the game is terrible is there a way to turn that crap off.
