i'm probably not the only one wif this problem. using epsxe v 1.7. prior to installing vista sp 1 i was able to play ff9 and chrono cross wif no slowdown but after installing it caused tremendouw slowdown in battle sequences in ff9 and in chronocross slowdown in battle and menu. i really dunno what caused this. is there any config changes i need to make to epsxe to counter this? i have only tried these 2 games so far but i'm quite sure other games will experience similar probs as well. pls help. thanx

your render to texture setting is wrong. thats why its slow, set it to 2.

Peops dsound is also old and causes problems with audio timing, use EternalSPU instead.

Disable antialiasing globally. or create a profile with AA and AF set to application defined.

for starters, update to Petes OpenGL 2.9.
secondly, right click on the epsxe exe and click properties, then on the compatibility tab, tick the disable visual themes, and DWM items, and hit ok.

Next, disable the game fixes, theres no reason to run any on FF9.

And get the latest available drivers for your graphics card.

disabled visual themes and updated to petes opengl 2.9,and my drivers already up to date and disabled game fixes yet still the slowdown still occurs, things are starting to look bleak, and starting to really hate vista sp 1,it must have changed something to cause this slowdown. before sp 1 no slowdown wif my old config. if i didnt need sp 1 for grand theft auto 4 i would've just uninstall sp 1. *sigh* any other suggestions would be appreciated though.

I'm using Vista SP1 64-bit myself and don't experience any slowdown.
