I think many of you had at some point the problem that the game stopped with a black screen or where running so slow that a action needed more than 2-3min, when there was a black screen i mostly thought the game was hanging but, it wasn´t.

In Pete´s plugin is a nice option to take away the fps limit, try it maybe your game isn´t hanging up, butt running just as fast as a snail.

Try dynamic instead.

Limit 30 + 50

Eh? Is it thirty, fifty, or eighty? If you're using NTSC, it should be 60, PAL, 50, and you should have the use FPS limit checked. Do you have frameskip on, btw? Turning it on might help.

Disable the mask bit (it produces some graphics glitches in the BoF games).

Also, does it take a long time for your characters/ennemies to cast a spell?
If so, play from an iso (as you may have noticed, the voices and sfx need a lot of cdrom access)
