what are your computer's specs? what settings are you using? playing off a CD or an ISO?

are you sure the emulation is slow, or just the same? IIRC that was just a slow game...so try the OGL plugin with "PC FPS calculation" special fix

HD has little to do with this, i'd prefer to know what videocard do you have. As hushy said, download pete's psx gpus 1.75 and use the ogl one, if you aren't already. If you are, go to the config screen, click on the button at the lower right corner (copy settings to clipboard) and paste them here.

Try enabling texwin pixel shader (wich should always be on with your card, anyway), and lowering offscreen drawing to 1. You could also lower fb effects to 2.

About the error, either set the cdr plugin to 'internal epsxe w2k cdr' or google and download forceaspi.

Maybe it's just this particular game is slow on ePSXe, happened to me before with ghost in the shell. Try using another emulator, like PSXeven.

try the "fast" preset and see if it works then. after, move up the OD/FE/FU until everything is drawn onto the screen.

no probs here with my NTSC version

3 things:

1) enable No render-to-texture
2) switch internal X and Y resolution to 0 (Native)
3) try both 16 and 32 bit color

eww, internal X and Y at 0? that looks like Peops oO

btw, i have (for the next 2 days :p ) a 5600, and i've always NOT checked "no render to texture", otherwise it goes WAY SLOW. (therefore, my rendering to texture is on...for some reason that makes it actually go full speed. i have Nvidia though so who knows.)
