Most PC games change the rez to correspond to the internal rez being used. But why? It's because it fills up the balloon more making it less shriveled. It greatly increases image quality while at the same time, helping the user to use LESS post processing effects to completely rid your image of jaggies! Pete's 2.9 gpu plugin for epsxe does this internally already. Here is the proof of concept that works with mostly any game you have (even pc games that don't change desktop rez already):

Other things that you can see a significant difference in is PPSSPP, PCSX2, Lightning Returns Steam, Koei Steam games, and Project64 among many others that don't change the desktop rez along with the internal game rez.

Why not just work with your rez at the highest DSR rez the whole time you ask? It's because, the purpose is similar to Nvidia Optimus. Not only does doing that make everything on the desktop super small, increasing dpi to match doesn't look right, and ultimately, it is less stress on your pc to just up your desktop rez while gaming and it returning to normal while you're not.

Some programs give more stress when doing this than others with Project64 being almost unaffected! So if you find yourself losing a great deal of FPS, lower some of your processing effects for you will soon find out that you won't need as much anymore!

Tool is for setting your desktop resolution per game. Great for dsr users or native 4K users who don't have their rez in 4K all the time. helps rid jaggies better without using alot of post processing effects.

I've upgraded it since yesterday to do the following during specific games but haven't released that version yet:


-hide mouse cursor, hide cursor per user defined interval on idle

-overclock profiler for those whom intel xtu per app overclock doesn't work for

-power down mode - decreases rez, downclocks processor through windows, turns off monitor, enables screen lock when laptop lid is closed. For ppl who don't want to use sleep and hibernate mode due to many programs not taking it into consideration and messing up when your pc returns.

-per app initiator. launches programs based on which app is on top.

-afterplug and hotplugging helper. launches an animated splash screen (image configurable by user) which waits and tells you to plug in your controllers before starting the game. for hotplugging, uses a modified xinput dll by krossx that allows to remove controller during a game.

-screensaver stopper (for those who want the screensaver to stop during games but allow screen dimming like psp)



Ya know, most of the silly problems that emu and steam devs fail to implement that piss me off

per app gpu overclocker is next on the list to implement. that will require you to have msiafterburner tho. dual screen gaming is too (for those who have a cintiq tablet -probably only me- and want to use the 2nd screen of a ds emulator, dolphin/vba-m, or just game/guide.

Edit: don't use save game feature on games with launchers whose launchers disappear from the process list when the game starts. Pondering about a workaround for that. Personally, I only have 2 games whose mandatory launchers do this (FFX2HD and DOA5) so it shouldn't be too much of a problem for now.
