So I got the PAL version of FF9, applied all the correct patches and have it all set up nicely, I was running it on the 1.6.0 emulator via the CD Rom Drive (With Daemon tools) until I started crashing, I then downloaded the 1.5.2 version of ePSXe (Again, applied all the fixes and patches) and transferd my memory card files from the 1.6.0 folder to the 1.5.2 folder.

It appeard to work, I loaded FF9 up again via the CD rom and all my saved data was there ( I was in Dali village where I last saved on 1.6.0). I played for about three hours (Got past the Lindbum part) and I was on the world map, then my screen went weird colours and it crashed. When I loaded back up all of my saved files which I had saved where gone from the Load screen. All that was there were the last saved files from 1.6.0 (I was back in Dali Village).

Is there any way I can regain my saved files? I tried using the PSXMEMTOOL but I am not to sure how it works, and if im able to get them back.

Any help is appreciated as I got quite far into the game and I don't want to have to re-do it :(

Note: I was saveing by going to moogles everytime

Thanks,
- James.

ok for one, use only ePSXe 1.5.2, if you read the sticky at the top of the forum, you'd know: http://www.ngemu.com/forums/showthread.php?t=46587

anyway, all versions of ePSXe use the same memory cards.

if you're save files got corrupted, then you're SOL. but you can still use your 1.6.0 saves in 1.5.2. and remember, dont use 1.6.0 with FF9.

They never got corrupted.
I found out the problem and the cause of it,

It appears that the emulator saves the saved data in virtual memory, and saves it to the mcd files once youve exited the emulator.
So when it crashed, it never saved it which resulted in lost data.

I experimented around with it, I exited out of the game normally, and I found that all the data was saved correctly.
I then did the same thing (Saved at a moogle) then did end process on the ePSXe.exe, it resulted in the loss of data.

Just gonna have to exit my game normally every now and then, so I don't end up losing my data.

Thanks! :thumb: :thumb:
