One long beep usually means there's a video card problem.

Are you sure the card is pushed in all the way? Make sures it firmly in the PCI-E slot and you here the click.

If not, then either your PSU isn't up to the task (which is unlikely by the sounds of it) or there's a bad memory bank on the card.

ok this might sound funny but sure you connected the monitor cable with the graphic card slot not the motherboard video card slot and make sure its properly installed and you didnt damage it with static

hi thanks for the answers i found why i had the problem too late tough it didnt work cuz i had motherboard with via chipset, but before knowing that i tried to change the psu i conected the card and i had the same problem, but then i removed the card and i found out that my motherboard and cpu got screw cuz my computer dint boot and i got the beep problem even with out the card i tried to change first jut motherbord it dint work so i had to buy new processor too cuz it dint boot even with the new mobo, heck i got screw and no in the world im conecting tht card to my new motherboard duno what could have happened maybe the psu screw all my pc.

very very sad story made me

Did you work with a grounding mat or wrist strap?...

I'm thinking it might be the RAM after all......

Anyway, I always take static precautions by wearing rubber medical gloves(I'm a CNA... I get em' for free at work).

Good heavens, interpunction and capital letters really aren't a luxury if you want people to read your message.

Did you read the manual if it says anything about switching to an external GPU? Maybe it works through jumpers rather than just a bios setting? There's usually a troubleshooting section in the back of it anyway. If you don't have a hardcopy of the manual they may have one on the website.
