I recently bought Gta:San Andreas for PC and installed it.Everything went smoothly when running the game until my pc wants to shutdown after a few minutes of gameplay and gives me some error message involving driver_irql_not_less_or_equal and cmuda.sys and restarts after dumping the physical memory.

PS: My pc specs r :
p4 3.2 ghz
512 ram
ati 256mb radeon 9250
120gb hdd
directx 9c
with 5.7 catalyst drivers
So it should run but it doesn't thanx for the help in advance

Sorry about the delay I couldn't find my digicam so I used my phone so sorry about the poor quality. Anyway what I know so far is that it is my sound card and I have tried uninstalling the driver but San Andreas needs a sound card for some reason and I have tried disabling DSP in Xear software. Any help is appreciated thanx.

I don't have that kind of problem in GTA:SA. My issue, at least with the Catalyst 5.7, is that all the human characters in the game are the colour of the sky, they have no texturing on them. So, I don't know what to do. My elder bro has the 4.12's installed, and it works fine. But, I don't want to downgrade drivers....and I saw that demon16 is using the Cat 5.7 drivers, and he didn't mention this glitch. Maybe there is something you did that I didn't?

I've done a bit of browsing around and found that driver_irql_not_less_or_equal is a non-contextual to SA bug, meaning theres nothing wrong with your GTA:SA. However, the error means that one of the drivers on your computer is not calculating memory correctly. From the research I've done doing a simple repair should fix it right up.

Either that or your RAM or processor has gone bust...

Sorry about reviving but San Andreas works after doing alot of stuff including a clean win xp install but to no avail. So I got a new sound blaster live! 24 bit sound card and then I find out that San Andreas had no proper support for my onboard c-media sound card and should hopefully be fixed in the next patch! :D Thanks to everyone that helped. :thumb:
