Hey everyone, I just started playing Saga Frontier 2 on ePSXe 1.52
I don't know if anyone has played this before, but the text in the menus is all screwed up as in it'll often just blank out or be replaced with fuzz.
The gameplay picture quality is excellent though.
Just wondering if anyone knows of a patch for this?
Thanks

hmmm.. try:
1) setting Framebuffer access to 4
2) setting Framebuffer textures to 2 and access to 3
3) setting offscreen drawing to 3 or to 4
4) a different video plugin like pete's opengl on 'nice' settings or maybe peops...

While some of this advice is good, some is quite questional

Don't touch Filtering, Hi-res Textures, Dithering, the resolution and screen smoothing if you don't want to.
I, for instance prefer Filtering and hi-res at 0, dithering and smoothing at off and resolution at my desktop's resolution.
Don't force your preferences on people :p

but yeah, I missed the other stuff (alpha multipass and mask bit), but while they should be on, I doubt the problems he was having are related to these 2 options...

This is what I ended up going with, in case anyone else ever needs it.

My settings are not really preferencial.
I am sure these settings are more of performance/quality.

Filtering, Hi-res Textures, Dithering, the resolution and screen smoothing is something not seen on the original Playstation itself.

Your settings are optimised. :)

Filtering looks ugly on 3d and pseudo-3d games, IMO, while dithering and smoothing just make everything look plastered... hires textures isn't that bad, IMO, but there are many scenes and places, especially menus, where a hires setting of 2 will really slow down the game..

hey, whoa, this is arguing preferences here. you'll never get anywhere with this.

i, too, prefer unfiltered textures these days. i really want to get my Voodoo2 back, that was fine emulation...unfiltered and raw :)
