I'm not sure if this has been mentioned before and im sorry if it has, but i thought I'd let you guys know that if you switch the "Audio Backend" in the DSP-HLE plugin to NullSound, you get a great speed boost. So far I've only done this on Rev 2069 and its worked great.

Yup if you turn it off you get a lot of speed but that's because sound uses your cpu alot.

Yep, some games like SSBM runs like hell when the sound is turned off, overall It's a nice speed-up tweak, but playing a game without sound It's crap.

I turn my dsound into nullsound so that I get full speed in ssbm and I get like 40 - 55 FPS, except in 4 players and in the fountain of dreams stage i get 15-28 FPS. How do I get full speed on 4 player mode? I saw many dolphin users getting full speed on 4 player, but i dont :,( .

Can someone give info of your dolphin configurations
Thnx in advance .....

i think there should be a 3 ghz + Dual Core for Recommended cpu speed for this emulator. Have 2 gb's + of DDR2 RAM. Also a geforce 8400 gs is a very ideal card to start off with. Anything less is playable but not enjoyable.

hmmm... I wonder if they could then make it Quad complaint by just processing sound on core 3 and keeping dual core mode, then it uses 3/4 cores at least....

i basically cut other sounds checkmark off to test games faster, loads up games faster thats all. but no ingame play
It really depends on what game you try it with

Inddeed IMHO there's something wrong in sound emulation. I pass from 20-25 fps in WII SPORTS, to 60fps in game (full speed) and about 250-300(!!) fps in menu. Some other game give worse improve, like Z:WW I got full speed (30 fps) from about 20-25fps.
I personally don't think the sound emulation is so CPU intensive, like ex. graphics emulation, but I could be wrong.
I'm asking this because in other emulator like PCSX2, the difference with or w/o sound is not so marked(I got about the same speed with sound /null).

I have a T9400 2,4 ghz and a 9600M GT.
