i'm experiencing a quite annoying problem with my controller, a ps2 dualshock connected to my pc via a titanium joybox converter. everything works right except while playing games with rumble, which tend to freeze my comp.
i'm not sure if this is the right forum to post since the same thing also happens with project64.
somewhere here i read that this is supposed to be nforce2 chipset problem. is anyone having the same problem? ar does someone know what is causing it?
i've alredy installed the newest drivers, here are my specs from dxdiag:

Operating System: Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 1
System Manufacturer: NVIDIA
System Model: AWRDACPI
BIOS: Award Modular BIOS v6.00PG
Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2500+, ~1.8GHz
Memory: 512MB RAM
Card name: NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti 4200
Chip type: GeForce4 Ti 4200
Display Memory: 64.0 MB

turn off rumble. it's pretty iffy, and the people who get it to work are pretty lucky. 'course, im a huge rumble pessimist, i always say turn it off, there might be a solution, but i say take the easy way out

well i have got rumble disabled now or my pc would need to be reseted while playing a game. i've asked here about it because i want a solution, having rumble disabled is more like the last option.
i've hoped someone would have a clue what is causing the problem, cause i'm pretty sure it's not emulator or plugin specific (i've got no pc games to try if the same happens). is someone knew some hardware incompatibility could be the problem that would help a lot, since i would now where to start searching for a fix (if it exists).

yes i tried epsxe 1.5.2, 1.6.0, psxeven 0.17 with harakiri and winMM pad plugins, but the same also happens with project64 1.5, 1.6 an 1964 0.99 with n-rage plugin. Haven't tried no pc games cause i don't have any with force feedback feature and like i said, i think it's neither the emulator nor the plugin. i've reinstalled the motherboard drivers but it didn't help.
i've googled for "force feedback" + "nforce 2" + crash/problem/freeze with no helpful results. :hdbash:

If this freezing occurs with both PSX and N64 emulation (and I have a feeling it would be the same with PC titles as well), then it's either a Windows (specifically DirectX) or a driver issue, related to your converter.

I used to have the same issue with the EMS USB II converter, until I got the Super Joybox converter, and a Logitech RumblePad 2 pad. Unfortunately, some pads/converters have issues...i.e with the SJB, some F.F wouldn't work. And the Logitech pad isn't perfect either. I was playing CMR4 and it was rumbling and my comp froze...I reset and the pad still rumbles!! :D I had to disconnect it from the USB port.

The only thing I can recommend is to use the latest version of DirectX and get the latest drivers for your converter....other than that, good luck. ;)

r2rX :D
