1st: limit the frame rate to 50 fps (PAL) or 60 fps (NTSC)

2nd: use Null2's 1.34

3rd: use barrett-kazzuya cd plugin, it's the fastest. If it doesn't help use the internal cdr plugin.

4th: if you're running from cd-rom, make an iso and see if it works.
