Either way I load it, fast or full, the game will start up go as far as the capcom logo screen then go to black for a few seconds and completely crash. I can run other somewhat fine but it's been impossible to load Resident Evil.

are you trying to run a ps1 game on pcsx2? it isn't very good at it.
