my system is: p3 667; 128 mb ram; tnt 2 grafix; sb live
os: winxp 2465 pro
and it runs really slow at the game menus and the pictures
why?
can you help me?

The Problem: the welcome screen pictures
It tooks much time to load them (about 5 minutes)!
Without the first picture
this comes really fast
but at the second it stops loading from cd and the picture tooks much time loading.
After the picture is finished my cdrom loads again the next picture, it stops loading--> picture also tooks much time,......
Plz help me to solve this problem!

Also at thrill kill the game menu tooks much time to get from one menupoint to another.

At my last OS Win me it wasn`t like this -->all worked fine!

Thx in advance!

I didn't even know that win xp was out yet!
Anyway, i think win xp has something the prevents the computer of running certain kinds of programs (the ones not tested by microsoft i guess). Well, that sucks cause it kills minor programmers. But plz dont call me a lammer cause i dont have any idea if this is right or not. Its jes a rumor I heard...

Its a beta version!
But i don`t think this is because of the prevent, because some programs wont start because of this and then there comes an error
--> not tested and so on
the only problem with epsxe is that it is too slow --> no errors; no crashes
it think it is because of cd rom
but thx :)

Given that XP is still in beta, there's nothing to say that there's not still debugging code using up processor cycles. Likewise the release of XP may very well be a good deal faster (though this *is* M$ we're discussing), given that they run it through optimizations and such. So, long story short, maybe try dual booting to an earlier OS?

windows xp is still a beta, as we all know!!;)

so the os is still very unstable!

the solution for u is to install another os to play epsxe.

and what plugins are u using?? u don´t state that and it could be a plugin prob!
