quick ff7 question

It could be a scratched cd.... If not then, goto www.gamefaqs.com and download the dexdrive save which starts you from the begginning of the game(just got off the train)... that way you can bypass that mdec which locks up....

No offense m8 but chill. The member here do not take it kindly to being insulted whenever they suggest something. BTW I do not see a mention of you trying isos in your initial post... just that you tried everything which is a bit vague.

I assume that you are using v 1.4 as this fixed the bug with this game that was present in v1.2. ? Hows about using soft gpu and no sound as there might be a bug with your hardware? Also you could try fivefeet8's idea... download a memory card for disk 2 and see if disk 2 works.Also try setting up a custon configuration in epsxe cutor and enable any special game fixes etc...

I am sorry but, I don't see you mentioning running FF7 off an iso in your first post... The reason I said that is because I also have problems with the opening mdec playing from cd or iso... So I downloaded the save and started from the beginning, bypassing the opening intro.. The rest of the mdecs ingame works great though.... If you don't want cheats in the game(gamefaqs has cheats enabled in some of their saves) then ask for a save at the beginning without any on this board. I am pretty sure someone on the board will post it for you.. Plus I am referring to savegames not savestates... What happens when you try my suggestion? If you really did try it, then what happens when you start the game with the save?

Yeah, slow down everyone ... this board is here for fun and helping others, and it's not really nice to thread them like that afterwards ... I can only agree with sxamiga's warning in that case.
